How to enter and optimise SEO settings

SEO settings determine how search engines "see" your website, and this translates into its position in search results. In this article, we will show you how to effectively manage SEO settings in the Sitejet Builder editor.

Global SEO settings

Global SEO settings can be found in the top menu on the right-hand side of the editor window, in the More > SEO Settings section.

  • 1 - SEO Title - the SEO title appears in search results in blue and with a larger font. It is the link leading to your page. The URL appears in green, and the meta description below appears in black. The SEO title is the most visible element. Some social media portals also use it as a heading or link text.
  • 2 - Slogan - this is an element that extends the SEO title. It allows for simple separation of text in search results with a hyphen. The final effect in the search engine will look like this:

  • 3 - SEO Keywords - SEO keywords are phrases assigned to your website. In search engines like Google, a keyword means a term related to the searched content - exactly what users type into the search engine.
  • 4 - SEO Description - in the SEO Description (meta description) section, there is space for a brief presentation of your website. This is important both for search engines and for users, as it allows them to quickly understand the topic of your site.
  • 5 - SERP Preview - SERP (Search Engine Results Page) is the search engine results page. In this section, you can see in real time how your entries are displayed in the search engine. The system allows you to preview entries in both desktop and mobile versions.
  • 6 - Noindex and Responsiveness Settings - the Noindex and Responsiveness fields are two key factors affecting how your website is presented online. When the Noindex field is unchecked, you consent to search engines analysing your site and including it in search results. Responsiveness should always be enabled. This allows the Sitejet Builder editor to display content in a way optimised for different device sizes. Nowadays, this is absolutely essential.
  • 7 - Meta Tags - here you can insert additional code snippets. Some tools require adding special code in the head section of the page. Detailed instructions are available in the documentation for each of these tools.
  • 8 - Google Analytics Identifier - In this field, place the tracking code for the current version of Google Analytics.
Google Maps API Key - This field is used to enter the Google Maps API key. This will give your website access to the full functionality of Google Maps.

SEO Settings for subpages

To add SEO-relevant information to any subpage, click Pages in the top menu, then the cogwheel icon next to the page you want to edit. Here you will find options such as SEO title, description, and keywords.
