Adding a menu header to the website

In this article, you will find instructions on how to add a header with a menu to your website using the SiteJet Builder.

If you start building your website by importing one of the ready-made templates, the header and menu will already be included. All you need to do is customise it to fit your website's content.

If you want to add a menu to a new or empty subpage – or use a different menu layout – you can choose one of the ready-made headers available in the Header category on the left sidebar. Select the layout that interests you and drag it into the main editor window.

  • Auto option - the menu will be automatically generated based on the subpages added in the Pages tab for this website. This is only possible for multi-page websites. If you want to exclude certain subpages from the menu, go to the Pages section, click the settings icon of the selected page, and disable the Menu checkbox in the settings. To change the order of items in the menu, simply drag the pages to the desired position.

  • Custom option - essential if you have a single-page website with different sections you want to link to. You can also use this option for a multi-page website when you want to customise the menu elements to your needs. After selecting the Custom option, you will see a list of existing menu items. You can add new elements using the plus icon that appears when hovering over any menu item in the settings. To remove a menu item, click the bin icon that appears when hovering over the element.
